SASKATOON – The University of Saskatchewan (U of S) has formalized a long-term lease agreement that will see a 203-room hotel development built on College Quarter.

Saskatoon based P.R. Hotels bring two International Hotel Group brands to the 10-story building.

University officials say P.R. Hotels was chosen because they understand the university’s needs and long-term plans.

“The financial benefits of the land lease will allow us to invest in further development of the College Quarter northeast precinct,” said Judy Yungwirth, director of corporate administration at the U of S.

“This project will be a great addition to the services we’re able to offer.”

She also added it is unusual for a university the size of the U of S not to have a hotel.
