Watch: Kristin Kreuk previews a new season of ‘Beauty & the Beast’

TORONTO — Kristin Kreuk, one of the stars of the Showcase series Beauty & the Beast, said Monday fans should expect a different tone in the second season.

“This season is a lot darker,” she said in an interview that aired Tuesday on Global’s The Morning Show. “There’s some stuff that’s really dark, which is fun. The audience will really like it.”

The 30-year-old Vancouver native said the sophomore season begins with her character Catherine finding Vincent (Jay Ryan) after three months apart — and he has lost his memory.

“It’s like a process of rediscovery and falling in love all over again,” explained Kreuk, who said the show will delve deeper into the beast world.

“You’ll see how different beasts are,” she promised, “and it’s quite gross sometimes.”
