Maestro Fresh Wes proclaims himself ‘Black Trudeau’ with new song

TORONTO – “If you love Canadian hip hop and you know you live in the greatest country in the world / If you’ve got two toonies in your pocket and you ride the rocket,” then you might also love Maestro Fresh Wes’ new song: “Black Trudeau.”

Featuring a slide show music video posted to YouTube after the release of his latest LP Orchestrated Noise, “Black Trudeau” has got it all: the Queen with pop up dialogue bubbles, Celine Dion, Shania Twain, Michael Buble and even Justin Bieber.

The self-proclaimed ‘rap rhyme minister’ gets political with some photos of Parliament Hill, references to current Prime Minister Stephen Harper, the late Jack Layton, and even the line, “Prime Minister Chretien telling me I’m tres bien.”

It’s not all love, though…Wes penned this lyric for Toronto’s mayor: “Told Rob Ford, stick to your vision, but when I saw him eat, stick to nutrition.”
