CALGARY – 60,000 people are expected to pack the Stampede grounds for the 2013 Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo, this weekend.
The pop culture extravaganza kicks off on Friday at 12 p.m. at the BMO Centre, and runs until 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Celebrity guests set to appear include John Carpenter, Stan Lee, Gillian Anderson, Peter Dinklage, Eliza Dushku, Cary Elwes, Will Wheaton, cast members from The Walking Dead, Dr. Who and a handful of WWE wrestlers.
The expo first launched in 2006, and has grown larger each year.
“Fans have truly embraced the magic we’ve created, and those fans come back year after year for something new,” explains Event Director Kandrix Foong, in a news release.
The expo is the second-largest all-ages pop culture convention in Canada.
Organizers warn tickets for the event are sold out and won’t be sold on site.
