The world’s largest Christmas light maze, which made its debut in Vancouver last year, will not be returning this holiday season.
Enchant, the 55,000-square-foot maze located between the Cambie Bridge and Olympic Village, needed a larger space to run this year.
Founder Kevin Johnston said in an email that while the City of Vancouver has been supportive in helping find a new location with more space, good drainage and adequate parking, they have not been able to find anything suitable for 2017.
It is unclear if Enchant will return for 2018 as Johnston said in the email “our hope is that one day soon we will be able to find a location, where we can once again bring you one-of-a-kind holiday memories.”
This year, Enchant will be making its U.S. debut in Arlington, Texas.
Last year, the event featured the maze, more than 40 local vendors, 12 food trucks, and a beer garden for special holiday beverages.
