Cape Breton Regional Police have made an arrest in the murder of a prominent Cape Breton businessman.
The body of James Matthews, 54, was discovered in his Sydney apartment on Aug. 29.

Matthews was a popular businessman known for his efforts to revitalize Sydney’s downtown.
On Friday, police announced they have charged Aaron Shaun Young, 28, of New Waterford with second-degree murder and robbery with violence.

They say Young was already remanded to the Cape Breton Correctional Facility in relation to two armed robberies that took place on Aug. 28.
Young appeared in Sydney Provincial Court on Friday afternoon and will return to court on Oct. 10.
