RCMP seize drugs, charge two people following search in Cape Breton

Nova Scotia RCMP have charged two people following the search of a home in Port Hawkesbury this week.

On Aug. 27, police say they executed a search warrant at a residence on Cameron Court.

A quantity of cocaine, hydromorphone, dexamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia were seized during the search.

Joseph Allison Sponagle, 25, was arrested and is now facing charges of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of hydromorphone and dexamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.

Police say as a result of their investigation, a 23-year-old woman from Inverness County, N.S. is also facing charges of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of hydromorphone and dexamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking. Her name has not yet been released.

Both of the accused are scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 30.
