A 17-year-old male youth charged with second-degree murder is scheduled to appear in Truro Provincial Court on Monday.

RCMP received a 911 call alerting them to a disturbance around 3:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug.18 at a home on Main Street East in Stewiacke, N.S.
Police found a 46-year-old man badly injured when they arrived on scene. He was rushed to hospital where he later died.
RCMP have not yet named the victim however the man’s wife, Shelly Woods, identified him as Daniel Handrahan, a military veteran.
