A 22-year-old will be charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop and assault with a weapon after fleeing from police in a vehicle and eventually backing it into an officer’s cruiser on Tuesday.
According to Halifax Regional Police, officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Old Sambro Road at around 3:00 p.m when it refused to pull over and sped off.
The officers did not pursue the vehicle.

Police later saw the vehicle stopped in a driveway on Lee Murphy Crescent.
The officers blocked the driveway with their cruisers with the vehicle eventually backing into them.

A small amount of damage was caused to both vehicles. There were no injuries.
The 22-year-old was taken into custody and will be held for court.
