Canadian actor Alexander Ludwig is back in the saddle (literally) as Björn for Season 4B of History’s hit show Vikings, and this time he’s in for quite a ride.

Björn, and Ludwig himself, have grown up on Vikings; the son of Ragnar has blossomed into a true force, and now finds himself wanting more than a life confined within the walls of Ragnarök.

Björn wants to explore and fulfill his own destiny, and this season he’s heading off on a sea voyage to the Mediterranean. What awaits him there is anybody’s guess, but Ludwig promises it’s going to be dark, and it’s going to be exciting.

“I think this is the darkest season we’ve ever filmed, which I love,” said Ludwig. “This season is incredibly complex, a lot of stuff happens. There’s some stuff we do on this show that I don’t think has ever been done on television, so it’ll be great to see how the fans respond.”
