The work of a high-seas fisherman is incredibly dangerous, but Deadliest Catch star Jake Harris encountered more trouble on land this past weekend.

According to two Facebook Live videos posted by Jake’s brother, Josh Harris, Jake was “jumped” on Saturday and beaten severely. He is currently in the intensive care unit at Providence Hospital in Washington.

Josh says his brother suffered a “cracked skull” and additional brain trauma.

Jake was allegedly beaten, thrown out of a moving vehicle and left on the side of the highway, though local police can only confirm that Jake was found on the side of the road after passerby called 911.

Once the police arrived at the scene, Jake apparently refused to file a police report and didn’t want to go to the hospital. His injuries ended up being too severe, and he had no choice but to seek medical help.

The only account of the story is from Josh, who claims that Jake got a ride home from a couple he was with at the nearby Quil Ceda Creek Casino. Josh claims that this is the couple that Jake identified, but at this time has not been confirmed by law enforcement. (As such, Global News will not post pictures of them, or their names. They are mentioned in the above videos, however.)

Josh also says that this couple is known for this type of attack — where someone is given a ride, beaten, and then their money is stolen — but again, there is no concrete proof against the pair. He has met with detectives, but Jake refuses to talk about the incident.

As chronicled on Deadliest Catch, Jake has had drug abuse and addiction problems in the past.
