Calgary police responded to reports of gunshots in the northeast at around 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
It happened in the 700 block of McDougall Road in the community of Bridgeland.
EMS said a man in his 20s was taken to hospital in non-life-threatening condition.
The scene was still being held as of Sunday morning.
Police tape ran across several streets that were blocked off, including McDougall Road between 6 Street and 6A Street and the alley that runs parallel to Memorial Drive.
It’s not clear if the incident was a targeted attack.
Police continue to investigate and have not confirmed if anyone has been taken into custody.
