Edmonton police say an elderly woman who walked away from her seniors’ residence Tuesday evening has been found safe and unharmed.

Police had asked the public for help finding a 92-year-old woman with dementia after she went missing. She was last seen at around 7 p.m. near Rutherford Road and 111 Street.

Because she had dementia, police said they were concerned for her well-being.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m., police said she was found safe and unharmed thanks in part to help from the Air-1 police helicopter.
