The Calgary Police Service has charged two men with manslaughter after their roommate was found dead Sunday morning.
At around 10 am on Sunday, police were called to a townhouse complex in the 200 block of 90 Avenue S.E.
When officers arrived they found one man dead at the entrance of the home.
“I’m not sure what the specifics are but there’s was some type of roommate dispute that had been on going on,” Insp. Don Coleman of the Calgary Police Service’s major crimes section said on Monday.
The victim has been identified as 33 year old Sutton Raymond Bowers of Calgary.
Family members gathered at Bowers’ parents’ home in Millrise on Monday. His mother describes her son as an intelligent and educated man who earned a sociology degree at the University of Lethbridge and recently became a human resources specialist.
“He was very kind and unfortunately he rented to the wrong people,” said Bowers’ mother.

According to a Facebook post, Bowers moved into his new condo in February of 2013.
Two roommates of the victim were arrested at the scene.
“We believe that the incident occurred maybe late in the evening prior and the roommates had left the residence and returned and had contacted police at that time,” said Insp. Coleman.
A police car remained outside the Acadia townhouse Monday morning as shocked neighbours walked by.
“They seemed like pretty good guys. I never had a problem with them,” said Brian Struthers who lives near by.
“A couple of times I was here walking dogs with them and one said, ‘well yeah sometimes one guy was partying and didn’t do something or he got into a rage or something’ and that was about it.”
“But I guess you got to feel sorry for the person who got killed and I guess you’ll feel sorry for the other guys in a way. Who knows what led up to it?” said Struthers who was saddened by the news about his neighbours.
“I think it happens sometimes to all of us, you know, it could be something little and you react right away and you don’t stop to think for a second.”
51 year old James Andrew Beaver and 41 year old Brian John Lambert, both of Calgary, have been charged with manslaughter.
“The manslaughter charge, similar to altercations where you see like a one punch type scenario where somebody falls and hits their head. This one is a little bit different but manslaughter is still the appropriate charge,” said Insp. Coleman.
Both men are scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
