Stolen truck going the wrong way on a Saskatoon street tracked down by police

Two men are facing numerous charges after the driver of a stolen truck was spotted driving the wrong way on a Saskatoon street.

The Ford F350, which had Alberta licence plates, was spotted speeding the wrong way on a one-way section of Avenue C North early Monday morning by a police dog handler.

It was last seen heading towards Idylwyld Drive.

Members of the air support unit (ASU) located the truck they said was being driven recklessly in the area of Quebec Avenue and 37 Street.

The ASU followed it as the driver headed out towards Highway 16.

Police said the truck then crossed a ditch and headed back into the city, where it was abandoned in an alley near Avenue B North and 27th Street.

At that point, police said two people got out of the truck and took off on bikes from the back of the F350.

One person was tracked down near Avenue D North and 25th Street West by a police dog unit and the second person was arrested by ground units at 24th Street West and Avenue C North.

Police said the two 30-year-old men are facing numerous charges as they continue their investigation.
