The Calgary Zoo has announced plans to hold a Christmas party aimed at companies struggling in Alberta’s current economic downturn.

The zoo’s ‘Beary’ Merry Christmas party is a combined holiday function that small and mid-sized companies can purchase tickets to, set for Friday, Dec. 2, 2016.

Calgary Zoo sales manager Maria Martinello said the event was created “in an effort to be sensitive to the current business climate” and is aimed at companies “looking to keep to their budgets.”

Interested companies can purchase only the amount of tickets needed while “still treating their guests to a full party.”

“It will be a great place to meet new business people, make new friends and network in a festive setting.”

The event will include a buffet, DJ and photo booth, as well as an opportunity to check out the annual Zoolights display.
