WINNIPEG — Winnipeg’s Scott Glennie is getting a chance to rejuvenate his professional hockey career at home. The Manitoba Moose signed the forward to a professional tryout agreement on Wednesday.

Glennie, 25, did not play at all last season because of an injury. He was a standout for four seasons with the Brandon Wheat Kings from 2007-2011. He accumulated 308 points including 121 goals and 187 assists in 252 WHL games.

The Dallas Stars selected Glennie in the first round with the eighth overall pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. But Glennie appeared in just one game with Dallas in the 2011-2012 season. He played parts of five seasons with their AHL affiliate, the Texas Stars, but became a free agent last summer when the Stars decided not to make him a qualifying offer.

The Moose open training camp on Oct. 3 at the MTS Iceplex
