New York City Police Commissioner James P. O’Neill said the explosion Saturday night occurred on the street outside of 131 W. 23rd St.

Authorities said a second device, an unexploded pressure-cooker, was found four blocks away on West 27th Street shortly after the explosion.

An image of the device that was shared on social media showed a silver piece of cookware with wires and a cellphone attached.

Saturday, a pipe bomb exploded about an hour from the Elizabeth train station in Seaside Park, New Jersey, near the site of a military charity 5K run. No one was injured in the blast.

On Sunday, five explosive devices were discovered at an Elizabeth train station and one device exploded Monday while a bomb disposal unit attempted to disarm it. No one was hurt.

FBI agents in Brooklyn stopped “a vehicle of interest in the investigation” of the Manhattan explosion on Sunday night, according to FBI spokeswoman Kelly Langmesser

An anonymous government official and a law enforcement official who were briefed on the investigation told The Associated Press that five people in the car were being questioned at an FBI building in lower Manhattan.

No one had been charged, and the investigation is ongoing.

Are the explosions connected to international terrorism?

“They are trying to hurt innocent people, but they also want to inspire fear in all of us and distrupt the way we live to undermine our values,” Obama said. “We all have a role to play as citizens to make sure we don’t succumb to that fear. And there’s no better example of that than the people of New York and New Jersey. …Folks around here, they don’t get scared.”

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo now says it appears the Manhattan bombing could be connected to foreign terrorism.

“Today’s information suggests it may be foreign related, but we’ll see where it goes,” Cuomo said.

On Sunday, Cuomo had effectively ruled out a link to international terrorism, saying there was no evidence to suggest that.
