Princess Diana: looking back at her life on the anniversary of her death

Many remember where they were on Aug. 31, 1997, when they heard the news Princess Diana had died.

It was 19 years ago when Diana and her boyfriend Dodi Al Fayed were run off the road by paparazzi after leaving their Paris hotel shortly after midnight.

The car, driven by a chauffeur who had a blood-alcohol level three times the country’s legal limit, rolled over and slammed into the wall of a tunnel entrance, according to People Magazine.

Princess Diana was rushed to the hospital where doctors tried to save her life. A few hours later, the People’s Princess was dead.
