The city is 40 per cent done its road rehabilitation work for 2016, the most ambitious year ever for fixing roads in Saskatoon.

The remaining work includes microsurfacing, which is expected to kick into high gear through the remainder of August and into fall.

“Microsurfacing is in full swing right now and helps us to repair roads in a way that has a minimum impact on the community while extending the life of the roadway in an economical way,” said Celene Anger, the city’s construction and design director.

“We’re scheduled to complete 87 lane kilometres of microsurfacing which is a 24 per cent increase over last year.”

A few big projects still remain, including construction at Attridge Drive and Central Avenue.
