The trial of Richard Henry Bain reached its eighth day of jury deliberation on Saturday and still no sign of a verdict.

The jury -comprised of seven women and five men- could not reach a unanimous decision.

Bain is on trial for the first degree murder of Denis Blanchette.

Blanchette, a stagehand, was working at the Metropolis night club where PQ leader Pauline Marois was giving her victory speech after winning a minority government back in September, 2012.

Bain is also on trial for three counts of attempted murder.

Bain’s defence argued he should not be held criminally responsible because he suffers from an undiagnosed mental disorder.

The crown argued Bain is criminally responsible because he was politically motivated.
