Non-profit animal group New Hope Dog Rescue has run low on dog food and needs help to continue providing food to its foster families.
Donations of adult dog or puppy food are being accepted. The group will also take bags that are torn, damaged or previously opened.
“We are really in need of dog food at this time,” said New Hope executive director Tami Vangool.
“We have over 88 dogs in our care right now, which is slightly high. Usually we average between 60 and 80.”

To buy food for them all would cost about $4,000 per month, according to Vangool. Foster dog owners with the program don’t pay for food.

The non-profit also relies on monetary donations from the public to provide things like spaying and neutering, vaccinations and other medical procedures.

Dogs that have been injured or mistreated often require more extensive care, which is also covered by the rescue organization.
“Our adoption fees do not cover most vet care that is performed on these dogs before they’re adopted,” Vangool said.
Monetary donations are also being accepted on the group’s website. Tax receipts are provided for all donations of $20 or more.
