Winnipeg canoeist wins silver at U23 World Championships

Winnipeg canoeist Nadya Crossman-Serb has won a silver medal at the 2016 ICF U23 World Championships in Minsk, Belarus.

The reward comes after Crossman-Serb and partner Katie Vincent finished second with a time of 2:01.511 in the women’s C2 500m final. The pair crossed the line a little more than a second behind the gold medal winning crew from Hungary.

Crossman-Serb grabbed gold in the same event at a ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup race in May.

She will also compete in the women’s C2 200m final on Sunday.

Crossman-Serb is the only Manitoban at this weekend’s world championships.
