Saskatoon police fielding calls from stolen bike owners following bust

Saskatoon police say they have received a number of calls from people wondering if their stolen bike has been recovered after details were released Monday about the recovery of dozens of stolen bicycles.

Early last Friday morning, patrol officers conducting a court check located 40 bikes, along with 40 to 50 wheels and tires, at two adjacent properties in the 300-block of Avenue J.

Officers also seized a baggie of meth.

Officials say investigators are still processing the stolen bikes recovered.

They ask anyone who has had a bike stolen to visit their website and file an online report. The report should include serial numbers and/or detailed descriptions of their bicycle.

The information will then be cross-checked and the legitimate owner contacted.

A 35-year-old man is facing a possession charge along with breach of recognizance while a26-year-old man is facing a charge of breaching a conditional sentence order.

Police continue to investigate.
