When it was announced in mid-May that country-music TV show Nashville was cancelled after four seasons, fans were not pleased.
There have been petitions and outcries, with fans reaching out to TV networks trying to get the Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere show back on the air. (One petition has almost reached an astonishing 200,000 signatures.)

Nashville lovers were even more thrilled when the producers of the series, Lionsgate TV, tweeted that there’s “more story to be told.”
There has also recently been much speculation that an announcement will be made at Wednesday night’s CMT Music Awards. The rumour is that the show is nearing a deal to produce a fifth season.
Entertainment Weekly is reporting that CMT itself is interested in picking up the show, but that hasn’t been confirmed.

A #BringBackNashville campaign has been going steady on social media for a month, and self-proclaimed “Nashies” aren’t giving up hope that they’ll see more of the show.
Show creator Callie Khouri is abundantly thankful to fans who support the #BringBackNashville campaign.
“Nashville fans are the absolute best, and support for the #BringBackNashville campaign has been amazing. We are so grateful for our extremely loyal following. We have stories left to tell and songs left to sing,” she said.
The 2016 CMT Music Awards air Wednesday, June 8 at 8 p.m. on CMT.
