The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have locked up their top pick in this year’s CFL Draft – a day before the team’s rookie camp kicks off.

Trent Corney agreed to a three-year contract with the club on Tuesday. The Bombers selected the defensive end ninth overall two weeks ago.

Corney racked up four sacks and 51 tackles in 34 games with the NCAA Division I’s Virginia Cavaliers.
