WINNIPEG — The 2016 Winnipeg BBQ and Blues Festival is just three months away, and the while barbecues will be cooking low and slow, the stage will be heating up downtown Winnipeg.
On August 19 and 20, the festival will once again take over Smith Street in front of the Burton Cummings Theatre with stages both inside the theatre and outside on the street. The entertainment will feature some of the best international, national and local blues performers, plus the ‘Pit Masters’ barbecue competition.
The headline act set to play the Burton Cummings Theatre on Friday is Creedence Clearwater Revisited. On Saturday night the legendary harmonica player James Cotton performs.
