Woman facing charges after Prince Albert police seize sword, guns

An 18-year-old woman is facing multiple charges after police seized a variety of weapons in Prince Albert, Sask. Officers were called to a disturbance around 1:10 a.m. CT Monday in the 1200-block of 15th Street West.

Police said a woman was reportedly wielding a hockey stick and trying to smash windows out of a residence. They were directed inside where they found the suspect as well as firearms and ammunition.

She was taken into custody without incident.

Police seized two sawed-off shotguns, a sawed-off .22-calibre rifle, a .77-calibre BB rifle, a machete and a sword.

Charges against the woman include unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of a loaded prohibited firearm. She was scheduled to appear Monday in Prince Albert provincial court.
