After news of superstar Prince‘s death spread, musicians of different stripes paid tribute to the late singer.
Dreamgirls star Jennifer Hudson, along with the rest of the cast of Broadway musical The Color Purple, sang one of Prince’s biggest hits, Purple Rain, to resounding applause from the attending audience.

Hudson and her co-stars belted out the words to Prince’s hit in amazing harmony at curtain call, and no one in the theatre was sitting down by the end of the song.
The pop superstar and legendary musician died Thursday in his home in Minnesota, according to his publicist. He was 57.

A repeat episode of ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ from 1996 featuring Prince will air on Saturday, April 23 at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. ET on OWN Canada.
