One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Saskatchewan. The head-on crash between a car and van happened Monday around 8:30 p.m. CT on Highway 8 just north of Kamsack.
The driver of the northbound vehicle, a 78-year-old woman, was declared dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.
Two people in the southbound vehicle were taken to Kamsack Hospital by a witness prior to the arrival of emergency crews.
A female passenger was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver, Jonathon Scott Straightnose, fled from the hospital before he was treated. He was later arrested at a residence on the Keeseekoose First Nation.
He is facing charges of failing to stop at the scene of a crash or collision and driving while disqualified.
Police said road conditions were good at the time and alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
