LATEST UPDATE, April 20, 3:15 p.m.: Alberta Municipal Affairs said Paul First Nation remains under an evacuation order and that about 165 residents of the community are still displaced. The Alberta government said the wildfire response in the community is currently being led by Paul First Nation.
EDMONTON – A wildfire on the Paul First Nation has prompted officials to call for a partial evacuation of the community west of Edmonton.
Officials are advising all residents and visitors to be ready to leave the area with little notice.
An evacuation centre has been set up at the Ironhead Golf Course clubhouse in Wabamun and the Paul First Nation School will be closed on Tuesday.
Anyone driving in the area is asked to do so cautiously.
Paul First Nation is located about 70 kilometres west of Edmonton. It is right beside the hamlet of Duffield, which on Monday was put under an evacuation alert by Parkland County.

There were 37 wildfires burning in Alberta – five were listed as out of control – as of 10 a.m. Tuesday.
