A 23-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man have been arrested in connection to a human trafficking investigation after an 18-year-old girl was allegedly forced into the sex trade.

Toronto police say an investigation started in November 2015 after the victim was lured into prostitution and forced to have sex with man.

Investigators say the victim was then “given” to another man and woman who also forced her into the sex trade.

The victim was forced to take photographs of herself with the images then posted on an online website, police say.

The woman was subsequently taken to different hotels and residences in the Greater Toronto Area where she had sex with clients.

Police say all the money earned was pocketed by the man and woman.

Denneil Morgan and Kiesha Shaunte Ripley were arrested on April 6 and charged with a number of criminal offences which include two counts of trafficking in persons, exercising control and procuring.

Both of the accused appeared in court on April 7.

Police believe there may be more victims and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
