Police are asking witnesses to come forward after two people were found dead in what investigators are calling a domestic homicide at a house in Richmond Hill.

York Regional Police Const. Andy Pattenden said officers responded to a call just before 11 a.m. Thursday and found two people deceased with “obvious signs of trauma” inside a house on Dunvegan Drive, near Garden Avenue and Hunters Point Drive.

Pattenden said investigators believe the homicide is “domestic-related” and are not currently searching for suspects.

He added that it was very early in the investigation and the homicide unit would be attending the scene.

Police will also set up a command post and a forensics unit and coroner will attend.

No other details on the cause of the death have been released.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed anything to do with the incident to come forward.

Police said the victims’ names won’t be released until next-of-kin are notified.
