‘The Walking Dead’ fans start petition demanding AMC reveal finale details

It seems like The Walking Dead fans have had enough.

After Sunday’s Season 6 finale, which showed big bad Negan killing someone — the audience never found out who, since it was shot from the victim’s first-person perspective — fans immediately took to the internet with their disgust and rage.

The finale ended with the POV cliffhanger, and it’s the umpteenth time TWD has used the infuriating device. Some fans apparently don’t want to wait seven months to find out who died (the series returns in October), so they’ve started a petition on Change.org to force AMC to divulge who was killed.

“I would like AMC to show us who Negan killed in the Season 6 finale of The Walking Dead,” the petition reads. “We want this either in an interim episode that borders Seasons 6 and 7, or a short R-rated webisode that shows us the death in all its bloody glory. Either of these are fine as long as it’s released before May 30th.”

At the time of this writing, the petition has 1,200 signatures (its target is 1,500).

Fans are threatening to never watch the show again, and were openly disappointed and angry about the finale.

TWD is already experiencing a ratings decline; Deadline reports that this season finale’s viewership was down 10 per cent compared to last season’s.

Of course, one of the problems with this petition is something the creator didn’t take into consideration: it’s entirely possible that the showrunners don’t know who’s going to die just yet. If that’s the case, then no one from AMC is going to respond to this petition any time soon.
