KELOWNA–The Kelowna Fire Department made short work of extinguishing a car on fire in a restaurant parking lot Saturday afternoon.
The call came in just before 2:30 p.m.
A Kelowna woman driving a ’95 Honda Civic noticed smoke coming from her heat registers by the windshield and pulled over into the Perkins restaurant parking lot on Harvey Avenue.
By the time she stopped, she could see flames coming from the vents, so she jumped out of the car.
The Civic was fully involved when fire crews arrived.
The Fire Captain says no one was injured and the cause of the fire was likely an electrical short.
