Trump Jr. has taken flack for the interview since it aired.

However, he claims he had no idea Edwards would be a part of the interview, Bloomber Politics reports.

“I never knew he was in the room so he didn’t interview me. He did apparently ask a question or two though. I had no idea,” Trump told Bloomberg.

Trump Jr. also provided his schedule for the day, arranged by an outside booking agency, which did not mention Edward’s name.

“I certainly had no idea of James’ background, and if I had I would have refused.”
