UPDATE: 3:07 P.M. Witnesses say two young men have been taken into custody from Gibbs Road in Kelowna.

UPDATE: 2:51 p.m. RCMP have taken one person into custody from a residence on Gibbs Road in Kelowna following a shooting incident at a Rutland 7-Eleven.

Police say the victim suffered non-life threatening injuries from an apparent gunshot wound.

Schools in the immediate area were placed in a temporary hold and secure while police conducted a search with police dogs.  The hold and secure has since been lifted.

KELOWNA – RCMP are on the scene of an apparent shooting incident at a Rutland 7-Eleven.

Witnesses inside the store say they heard a loud bang and saw a man outside suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.

The victim was taken away by ambulance, though he apparently was not being cooperative.

A witness who showed up to the scene shortly after the shooting says the K-9 unit was on scene shortly after and he believes they are actively looking for the shooter.
