Edmonton Eskimos re-sign linebacker J.C. Sherritt

EDMONTON – Linebacker J.C. Sherritt will be back with the Edmonton Eskimos after re-signing with the organization.

Sherritt will be under contract with Edmonton through the 2017 season.

The six-year CFL veteran had 71 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions and two forced fumbles last season.

The 27-year-old aslo had six tackles in the West Final against Calgary and four tackles in the Grey Cup against Ottawa, helping the Esks win the championship.

Sherritt was named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player and an all star in 2012 when he set a league record with the most tackles in a season.
