TORONTO — Police have released dramatic surveillance video footage after a 70-year-old Scarborough man shot and killed in a parked van in the city’s east end Wednesday night.

Toronto police responded to a shooting in the Morecambe Gate and Chester Le Boulevard area at about 11:30 p.m.

Two men were sitting in a parked van when police said a male suspect approached the window of the van and shot the driver and a man in the front seat. Police said a second male suspect kept watch from a short distance away.

On Thursday, police released surveillance video footage from the scene of the shooting, which shows the suspect walk up to the van and open fire.

Alva Dixon, 70, of Scarborough, was pronounced dead at the scene and a passenger in the van suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
