Saskatoon civic services and facility hours for the holiday season

SASKATOON – Here are the civic services, facilities hours and closures for the City of Saskatoon during the 2015-16 holiday season.

City Hall: Closed Dec. 25, 28 and Jan. 1

Parking meters: No payment required on Dec. 25, 28 and Jan. 1. Motorists must move their vehicles within the time period shown on meters on those days.

Municipal impound lot: No vehicles will be released to the public on Dec. 25, 28 and Jan. 1

Landfill: Closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Open on all other days between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Garbage and recycling collection: No collection on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, with the affected neighbourhoods rescheduled for Dec. 26 and Jan. 2. Weekly garbage collection will take place from Dec. 21 to Jan. 2. Recyling depots are open 24/7 for over-sized cardboard and non-aluminum/shiny wrapping paper.

The new 2016 garbage and recycling collection days is in effect on Jan. 4, 2016.

Saskatoon Public Library: All branches close at 5 p.m. Dec. 24 and 31. Closed Dec. 25, 26 and 27 and Jan. 1.

Civic Conservatory: Open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Christmas Day when it is closed.

Saskatoon Transit: Will operate with regular Sunday/holiday service on Dec. 25, 26 and Jan. 1, however the transit customer service centre will be closed.

Access Transit will operate with regular holiday service from 8:15 a.m. to 11 p.m. Trips must be booked in advance as per normal procedures.  Customers are reminded that subscriptions do not apply on statutory holidays.

Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo: Closed on Dec. 25. Regular hours of operation on Dec. 26 and Jan. 1.

Indoor arenas: All rinks will be closed on Dec. 25, 26 and Jan. 1.

Clarence Downey speed skating oval: Open Dec. 25 from 12:15 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Cosmo Civic Centre: Closed Dec. 25, 26 and Jan. 1 with modified hours on Dec. 24 and 31.

Harry Bailey Aquatic Centre: Closed on Dec. 25 with modified hours on Dec. 24, 26, 31 and Jan. 1.

Fitness Circuit & Terry Fox Track: Closed Dec. 25-28 with modified hours for Dec. 21-24 and Dec. 29-31.

Lakewood Civic Centre: Closed Dec. 25 with modified hours for Dec. 24, 26, 31 and Jan. 1. All fitness classes and child minding are cancelled on Dec. 28 and Jan.1

Lawson Civic Centre: Closed Dec. 25 with modified hours for Dec. 24, 26, 31 and Jan. 1. All fitness classes are cancelled.

Saskatoon Field House: Closed Dec. 25 with modified hours for Dec. 24, 31 and Jan. 1. All fitness classes are cancelled but there will be a holiday fitness class on Jan. 1.

Shaw Centre: Closed Dec. 25, with modified hours on Dec. 26 and Jan. 1. All fitness classes and child minding are cancelled on Dec. 24 and 31.
