KELOWNA – Apparently there’s a Grinch in Kelowna and he’s targeted Candy Cane Lane. Early this week, some Christmas laser lights were stolen from a front yard on the “most decorated street” in Rutland.

“There were two laser light displays over there as well, I woke up, had to run somewhere and noticed they were missing,” says Damjan Madjar, Candy Cane Lane Organizer.

For the past few years, neighbours on Gramiak Road have been going all out with the decorations.

They have become a popular attraction. People drive slowly past the lit-up houses.

Care homes even bring residents by on busses to see the light show.

“Yeah, it’s sad that someone would do that. They put out that money for Candy Cane Lane for the whole neighbourhood, for the whole community I should say,” says Madjar.

The neighbours say they’re going to keep a closer eye on each other’s displays now and bring more expensive decorations inside at night.
