WINNIPEG — If the Ness Avenue Bridge is a part of your daily commute, you’ll need to make other plans for your drive until next year. Construction is set to begin on the bridge on Monday and is expected to last until October 2016.
A stretch of Ness Avenue between School Road and Valley View Drive will be closed during the construction. Traffic and transit will be rerouted around the area.
The city hopes the ‘new high level bridge’ will prevent flooding in the area and will have a 75 year life span.
