MONTREAL – Three people are in hospital after a case of domestic violence in the borough of Lasalle Sunday morning.

Montreal police (SPVM)  received a 911 call at 3:30 a.m. regarding a person who had been stabbed following a dispute between a husband and wife.

Police say when they arrived at a home on the corner of de Beauport and  Jetté streets,  a man in his 60s was standing outside the residence and harming himself with a sharp object.

The stand-off ended when police shot the man with rubber bullets. He was struck in the lower body and was taken to hospital where he’s listed in critical condition.

“At this point, we fear for his life,” said Abdullah Emran spokesperson for the SPVM.

Inside the residence, officers discovered two victims. A woman in her 50s and a man in his 20s.
