We may not know what role he’s playing yet, but Ryan Gosling just confirmed to Collider that he is most definitely appearing in (tentatively titled) sci-fi sequel Blade Runner 2.
Lots of information about this film has been kept under wraps, so for Gosling to admit that he’s going to be in the movie is a big deal. So far, it has been rumours and speculation, but now we have information straight from the source.
The only other certainty is that original Blade Runner star Harrison Ford will also be starring in the sequel, reprising the role of Rick Deckard. No details in regard to plot and storyline have been revealed yet.
Fellow Canadian Denis Villeneuve is directing the film, and his involvement helped persuade Gosling to sign on to the project. Ever tight-lipped, Gosling joked “There’s a chip in me, and if I say anything more I’ll explode.” So it looks like this is all we’re getting, for now.
