SASKATOON – One of Saskatchewan’s most storied neighbourhoods marked Remembrance Day with its annual outdoor ceremony Wednesday, drawing people from all over Montgomery Place. They gathered under sunny sky and unseasonably warm weather for Nov. 11.
Speeches and music were delivered in front of the community’s two monuments in Montgomery Park.

The neighbourhood was established after the Second World War, when returning personnel received property incentives from the federal government through the Veterans’ Land Act.
Barb Biddle, president of the Montgomery Place Community Association, attends every year. Both of her parents were veterans who lived in the area.
After the ceremony, people gathered for coffee and snacks at St. David’s Trinity United Church.
