WINNIPEG – As preparations for the 103rd Grey Cup ramp up, the team hosting this year’s CFL championship has started to wind down its season.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers were eliminated from playoff contention Friday night with the BC Lions beating the Toronto Argonauts 27-25. Winnipeg will miss the post-season for the fourth straight season and the sixth time in the last seven years.

With the Bombers’ exit, the fight for the CFL’s final playoff spot is now down to BC and Montreal. The Lions can clinch a berth with a third straight win next week against Calgary. The Alouettes meanwhile must win out and hope BC loses its final game to crossover into the West Division playoffs.

Winnipeg wraps up the regular season Friday night with a visit to the Toronto Argonauts.
