CALGARY – A tow truck driver was sent to hospital on Monday evening after being hit by a vehicle.

It happened on Deerfoot Trail N.E. near the turnoff to 16 Avenue N.E. at around 8 p.m.

Police say the victim was in the middle of hooking a car up to his tow truck when he was hit by a passing vehicle. The force of the impact knocked the tow truck driver back into the windshield of the car; he then tumbled onto the ground.

EMS rushed the victim to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He has since been released and was recuperating from his injuries Tuesday afternoon.
