TORONTO – A man wanted as a person of interest in connection to the shooting death of a Toronto teenager in Jamaica over the weekend has turned himself in, according to a statement released by Jamaican police.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force were looking for Omar “Judge” James after 14-year-old Ricardo Williams of Scarborough, Ont. was shot to death near Kingston early Sunday.
Police said James turned himself in to the Hunts Bay Police on Monday evening.
Authorities said the teen was shot at a wake after explosions were reported around 1:51 a.m. local time.
Williams was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
According to a media report, the teen was on vacation when he was fatally shot.
