A six-year-old boy from Grafton, Massachusetts raised $1,500 for a police officer battling cancer.
Tyler Hardiman doesn’t know police Sgt. Michael Mazzola, but that didn’t stop him from rolling up his sleeves and making a lemonade stand in order to raise funds for the officer diagnosed with lymphoma.
“I just wanted to because I wanted to raise money for the police officer because he has kids,” said Hardiman to WBZ News.
The goal was to raise $1,000 but Hardiman, his mom Danielle Hardiman, and his best friend Jacob Lupien surpassed that goal by bringing in $1,500.
According to WBZ News, two hundred people stopped by the lemonade stand on Friday to support Hardiman’s cause, including the Grafton Police Department.
“I did not know it was going to be as big as it was,” said Hardiman’s mom to WBZ News.
“I am just so proud, so proud of him,” she added.
