SASKATOON – Thursday was a somber anniversary for the family of Carol King. Weeks after last being seen alive on Aug. 6, 2011, her body was found in a field near an abandoned farm year in the Herschel, Sask. area.
King, who was 40, was living in the area at the time of her death. She was originally from Newfoundland.
Four days after King was reported missing, her PT Cruiser was found in a slough about one kilometre from her home.
Four months later, the home she had been living in went up in flames.

Mounties said they are no closer to solving the homicide. The historical case division says there are no new developments as they continue to follow up on tips and stay in regular contact with King’s family.
Herschel is approximately 130 km southwest of Saskatoon.
